Who is in charge of enforcing parking regulations?
Since January 2015, it is the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) that has the responsibility of enforcing parking regulations, at all times during the year, including during snow clearance operations.
Parking officers may intervene at a resident's request:
- when a sign indicating a street parking zone reserved for residents is not obeyed;
- when a vehicle on the public roadway is obstructing a driveway and preventing others from going in or out.
To request an immediate intervention, phone 514 280-2222.
Depending on the circumstances and the seriousness of the situation, the vehicle at fault may be towed.
To contest a ticket
To contest a statement of offence, follow the instructions marked on that statement. If you have any questions, please phone the Municipal Court at 514 872-2964.
Towing
The location of a towed vehicle may be found on the Info-remorquage Internet site.
